My 94 t5 is much more smoother than the 96 t5 was, neither had nivomats. Both ran on 5 spoke 16" wheels. The most comfortable rides were the 95 2.5 10v and my 93 2.0. The 240 and 740 were the better rides for motorways in my opinion until it came to corners where the 850's seem to excel.

It is strange when I think about it, the 96 t5 used to sit slightly lower so perhaps Volvo revamped the suspension on later models. Wasn't there a beefy suspension offered by Volvo?

I really need to drive something made after 1997 to find out what the modern world is like.

Personally i've found the balance of the T5 suspension to be pretty good [i've got a 95 estate]. It'll take a thrashing on fast A/B roads[& I do mean a thrashing ] whilst allowing you to hit speed bumps in urban life faster than most. I run mine on th original 16" comets & have been warned off the larger diameter alloys due to decreased ride comfort.

Unless your planning to take her on the track or impress your teenage mates at the local supermarket carpark, stick to the original setup & trust in Swedish engineering!

Just my twopenneth mind you................

Cheers,

Morgan
