£34.99 (eeek!)

No experience of using it as the most popular software is Torque Pro, which only runs on Android and costs £2.95 so little risk involved.

Also as been said, the adaptor will connect with engine off or engine on, makes no difference, other then engine must be off to clear codes.
Tried my bluetooth reader again tonight, I had a proper homer simpson doh moment! I have tasker on my phone and it automatically turns my bluetooth off when connected to my home network and on again when I disconnect, so when I plugged the reader in to try when I first got the car and was sitting in the drive my phone was connected to my home network so the bluetooth was off! I never gave this a thought as with my old car I just used to plug the reader in and it would connect and start showing the live data as I drove off because bluetooth automatically connected. Actually turned my bluetooth on this time and it worked so I'm happy now And no faults recorded which is good

Look up "Bluedriver" which is free software but you will need their OBD-II scanner hardware that costs $99, in use it is very good - Mike
