Default Anyone near Merseyside with a V50/S40 D5?

So I'm currently on the hunt for a V50 to replace my knackered 320d. I'm new to the Volvo scene and, as far as I can tell, the 2.4 D5 is 163bhp, with the 2.0 D4 being 136bhp (happy to be corrected)?

I think the D4 maybe a little underpowered for me, but is there anyone close to Merseyside that would be willing to take me for a spin in theirs so I can get an idea.

I live in Haydock but work in Old Trafford.

Thanks in advance guys.

In the S40/V50:

D5 = 2.4-litre 180bhp
D4 = 2.0-litre 177bhp
D3 = 2.0-litre 150bhp

The D5 is of an older design, hence the D4 has almost same power with smaller capacity... People will tell you the D4 is nicer to drive in terms of power delivery vs the D5.

All above engines are 5-cylinder.

Don't mistake these for the "2.0d" 136bhp Ford/Peugeot diesel, which is an extremely common engine in these cars.

Ahhh I see. So when looking on trader, if it just says 2.0d its likely to be the lower powered one, but D4 is the one to look for?

Is the D3 fairy tunable if I can't find a 4?

If it is physically badged "2.0d" on the back then yes it is the lower power 136bhp Ford engine.

D3 and D4 engine are the same just D3 is software restricted to 150bhp.
