Default Personalised reg on a cop car...

OK so outwith this section of the forum but thought I would ask you lot your thoughts......

Saw an unmarked white 3series Police car on the M180 this afternoon with the reg R999KAT.

Now I thought 2 things:-

1. Personalised plates are a vanity for people with more money than sense (I plead guilty).
2. Unmarked cars are supposed to be as anonymous as possible.

Thoughts?

How do you know its an unmarked car?

I'd be inclined to think its a strip-o-gram called kat who does excellent dances with a police uniform

I also plead guilty to item 1.

In my experience unmarked Police cars are totally anonymous and any colour but white.

There are groups of people who make "Police cars" and this may have been a part completed project without the livery. The number plate suggests that this may be the case.

It was attending an accident clear up along with a traffic womble and a recovery truck. It had blue lights front and rear.

Amazed that it was a plain white car with personalised number plate.

That's Humberside for you!

seems crazy to me to have private plates on the car, I got to be honest, if it was not for this thread and I saw a white BMW with those plates I would assume it was just some nutter and would also assume if they went to pull me its not a real cop car and try and get away thinking its a scam!

With people thinking along the same lines as you, having a personalised plate will achieve the end IMO - they are so prevalent on so many cars of all types, and the police surely wouldn't have one that....

It used to be something I'd watch out for (ie private plate <> police car).

On a side note - North Lincolnshire (and surrounding areas) are very well represented on this forum!

Mind you, if it had been Essex you could understand it!
