Wee update, have to say this is a superb bit of kit, easy to install connected to the phone straight away and the mic cable is the perfect length to mount on the drivers A pillar. Steering wheel buttons work for track skipping, answer and hang up and volume.

For £35 I don't reckon you can do better, the sound quality is superb.

Think I’m going to try one of these as my CD works, but the radio is erratic, mostly it doesn’t work. Is it easy to fit?

Pity it doesn't work with the SC805. Yes I know there is a Yatour that does.

I use something like (not this exact model ) https://www.amazon.co.uk/Audio-Integ.../dp/B00H7AEE9Y
GROM Audio BT3 Integrated Bluetooth Car Kit

It has Bluetooth and you can plug in a usb memory stick or a memory card full of MP3's.
Then you can change folders the same way you would change cd's if you had a CD changer fitted and then use the normal track controls to change tracks via the steering wheel etc.
The version I have cost me about £35 from China.

I bought the Grom as well. Cost about £120 2/3 years ago. Easy fit and works well however would have preferred to fit something like the OP found at £35 that is for sure especially if it does the same job.

Good find there OP.

Honestly couldn't be easier, I plugged it in, found the unit on my phone paired it and music started straight away.

On my S60 pull the gear lever surround up, 2 Torx screws and the whole centre dash unit pulls out, plug the module into the socket on the rear and job done.

For the mic I pulled the door seal out, fed the cable down to behind the dash side panel, removed the panel above the pedals and fed the wire up to the back of the radio. Half hour tops I reckon.

I was getting mixed reports on what the GROM did and didn't do, you had to get the version with a mic and I don't know that the steering wheel controls answered and hung up phone calls? On top of that its 3 times the price of this BlueMusic unit.

Thanks for that, very helpful. I have one coming tomorrow! Presume you disconnected the battery first?

No need to disconnect the battery, I didn't, in fact my ignition was still on 😂

Facelift auto so needed to be in D to get the stereo out, didn't unplug anything, just turned the unit off, popped it back in place, cycled the ignition, selected 10cd changer, paired it and off it went!

Fitted mine in about 15 minutes yesterday. The reason it took so long was that I was removing the Grom unit first and there was also a power supply to charge the phone that I had to relocate in the process. I was able to leave the mic lead though so that was just a case of plugging into the new kit.

What a difference! Steering controls work properly and there's no delay on the hands free so callers don't hear themselves a second later. That made it pretty unusable sadly. The Grom was secondhand and this vehicle was on its second head unit when I bought it so that might have been a factor.

Great result.

PS. As above - didn't disconnect battery.

As others have said no need to disconnect battery, you aren't actually touching any other plugs/cables so its fine. I fired the radio up before refitting to check the unit worked.
