Default Wanted - 740GLE Estate

Hi All,

Im after a 740GLE Estate. I had one a few years ago. A blue one with tan leather. It had a B230E 2.3 Engine and an M46 manual gearbox.

Im basically after the same again. This time however, I wouldn't say no to an auto - infact i'd probably prefer an automatic

I appriciate it will probably have the usual 740 issues such as none working fuel gauge, knackered headliner etc, but these can be sorted over time. Be nice if all the heated goodies worked - seats, mirrors, rear window etc

Mileage - Im not fussed.

Servicing - so long as it has relevant servicing reciepts for services and cambelt changes, along with other maintenence like tyres / exhausts, thats good enough for me.

so basically, after a sound, good condition 88/89MY 740GLE 2.3 automatic estate with hopefully no rust and no major dents or scrapes. so long as it polishes up quite well, is reliable and has been well serviced, this is what i need.

Im in no rush to buy, hence i thought i would chuck this ad up here and see whats what.

Cheers
James

I've got the non-working fuel gauge, headliner isn't drooping but has a couple of tiny rips, heated mirrors and rear window work, heated leather seats don't. But they are tan, which I think is nicer than the black that's often seen.

171,000 and rising steadily as I use it every day.

It had a cambelt done at about 150,000 I can't quite remember what it says in the service book. I've recently done front pads, handbrake shoes and a couple of exhaust sections. Tyres are nice and it gets an oil and (Volvo) filter change every 6 months. I have the stains on my drive to prove this.

It's got a little dent on the back of the rear wing and a cracked indicator lens at the front. Doesn't let any water in, no rust wherever I've looked. I wish all the cars I've bought were this solid. It takes me to work every day, occasionally on 400 mile trips on a weekend and I wouldn't hesitate taking it anywhere. It loves long journeys, it means the fuel economy jumps from 23mpg around town to 36-38mpg on the motorway.

That's cool, I'm in no rush to sell either, but give me a shout if you want to have a look, I'm in sunny Bedfordshire
