Question Individual Drive Mode Questions

Hi Guys,

So I have the following options on the T8;

• Driver Display
• Steering Force
• Powertrain Characteristics
• Brake Characteristics
• Suspension Control
• ECO Climate

Driver Display I get, Steering Force and Powertrain Characteristics I also get.

Brake Characteristics, does anyone know the difference between normal and dynamic?

Also Suspension Control, out of the options I have (as AWD mode isn't listed - does anyone know which is the highest of the settings Pure, Hybrid and Power - I'm guessing its Hybrid - but is there a reason they didn't add AWD - isn't that slightly higher?)

Also I get ECO climate so that's cool.

Thanks in advance.

Currently Running;

• Driver Display - Power
• Steering Force - Light
• Powertrain Characteristics - Power
• Brake Characteristics - Normal
• Suspension Control - Hybrid
• ECO Climate - Off

Thanks!

I actually have noticed something on the individual driving mode that I am not aware on how exactly it works.

So if I set the powertrain characteristics to ECO (in order to have coasting) and the Driver Display on Power, then I do not get the coasting sign.

How do I know if the car is actually coasting in this mode or not?

Well you know how coasting works so just take your foot out of gas pedal in the moments you know it will enter in action,as you know it obeys to speed, inclination,etc. But yes you are right... Volvo again in my opinion complicates. One thing is the eco mode powertrain characteristics,other thing is the driver display. You could change the different driver display modes and yet have an indication of the powertrain mode you're running with its own specifications visible.

I guess not even Volvo knows the difference... normal mode maybe slightly loose...what i mean is that maybe in dynamic you feel more tension in the brakes more grip if you know what i mean.But it's something almost intuition tells you.

I think it's hybrid just like you guessed. But i am not sure because as you know i do not have a T8 but looking at mine and putting in comparison...makes sense and it's more logical to be Hybrid.

Mine says ‘Coasting’ just above ‘ready’ on the Rev counter.

It's a T8. You have a D4.

Still doesn't show graphically speaking coasting like in eco display.
