In 1987, I bought a 1984 Granada 2.8 Ghia Estate. It was only three years old, I could not afford the repayments or run it! But what the hell. It looked great and it was fantastic.
Over the next fifteen years we went everywhere in it, evey day to work, on holidays, up the side of mountains.... It was part of the family, but it was starting to cost a fortune, not only in day to day running costs (Them old V6's will only do around 20 MPG commuting) but as strong a car as they were, it was starting to go rotten in the wrong places and it failed one M.O.T too many. If I had the money I would of liked to have sent it away and had it done up, but then if it came back looking immaculate, I would be to frightened to go out in it and leave it anywhere!

Just had an email from Richard over in Ireland , the gent that bought my Torslanda .

""hi mike was in the north and south of england last week towing a large ifor williams trailer. done 850 miles in three days. no problems. I hope to have rear shocks, clutch and springs replaced next monday that should leave it good as new.I dont mind replacing those items as they are normal wear and tear items. The condition of the car should make it well wourth spending the money on it. It is a great car for towing probably better than my diesel merc was. I have located unused rear seats to turn it into a 7 seater. The car seems very good on fuel did you ever test it for mpg. look forward to hearing from you. regards Richard .

At least it has gone to an owner that loves it .

Has anyone else sold a car that you miss .
Saab 900 Turbo 16v 3dr 85 (B) in Black, I really, really, really miss this car I think you get the point
Saab 900s 16v 5dr 90 (G) sold on for profit but still miss it.
Golf Gti 16v mk2 1990 (H) in Gun metal grey great fun but got too small.
Golt GTi mk1 1982 (W) Black and it was a hoot to drive hard but smaller than the one above.

I still want another classic Saab 900 Turbo 16 valve and so does the Mrs so you never know, everytime I see one on the road it puts a smile on my face.

The ones I have missed are BMW 2002Tii, Fiat 131 2000TC, BMW 323i. MG B GT V8, Volvo 850 GLE T5. All for different reasons.

I have been missing the 240 ever since I sold it , yes its gone to a good home I know but for those who have never owned a 240 before theres just something that sticks with you , everything else doesnt seem to compare .
Yes the 850 is a great car , fantastic in fact . Its comfort , speed , and luxury , but doesnt get the smile on my face when driving compared to a 240 .

Some may think im completely mad , yes maybe I am but ever since the 240s been sold I just cant seem to settle down with a car .
