So I contacted the main dealer (Rybrook) and they said there are no downloads for my 2012 xc60. They said I could book it in but it's 160 plus for a diagnosis. I said I hadn't got any codes (I have the icarsoft). They said nothing they could do. I contacted head office and asked at what age cars cease being supported by software . The reply was vague and that they had no software for a 2012 xc60. I am probably going to take it to an indy. But surprised at this response.

Try another dealer.
How do they know without looking at it what software version your TCM has?

Doesnt surprise me ....If its the branch nearest to your "location" their front facing staff are technically poor. I booked our 2012 V40 petrol for a 10 year service and was told it needed new belts (Aux and timing)
The aux belts are due at 6 (and were done) and 12 years (on a time not mileage basis ) and it has a timing chain so is due a check at 12 years. I declined the aux belt replacement and reception were delighted to tell me when I collected the car that the technician had "discovered"that it had a timing chain so didnt need a new belt ........ |

Bit of an update here folks. Finally got round to getting the car booked in with a local independent. My normal chap Jump Leads has retired so tried another. Corner Garage Warton were brilliant. Did a software download. Took it for a drive did all the adaptations and leant me a car. Grand total ???? £78! Car in transformed. No more jolting.

I find the dealers avoid Autobox issues like the plague. Glad it’s sorted

Corner of Lytham Road and West End Lane I'd say, just outside Warton as you come from Saltcotes direction - you know, just down from Morley's Used Cars and across from the the big car wash.
Lots of Volvos outside. Ask me how I know this |
