Suspension Issues V40T 2001
Help! Expensive sounding issues with my beloved V40T:-
1) Rear sounds as if it is 'bottoming out' with the most horrendous crunching/ twisting metal noise whilst going over the slightest bumpy road and especially under a load - I have had 4 x 25 kg bags of plaster in the back today and I thought that it was going to go on me any minute. What is this indicative of - shocks? springs? bushes??? 2) More or less constant knocking noise on the front, especially audible at low speeds. When springing car up and down to test I could not hear it but having rocked he car from SIDE TO SIDE it reappeared. Am i looking at the steering rack/ wishbones/ shocks/ springs?? ANY help appreciated. I am not a mech and have no idea where to stat investigating. Thought i'd throw it to the arena before i go and get fleeced at the garage. Thank you. |

NOT SURE ABOUT REAR BUT THE FRONT SOUNDS LIKE YOUR ANTI ROLL BAR. (EITHER THE PIVOT BUSHES OR THE DROP LINKS)
