Reset door mirror memory
I've just had my nearside door mirror replaced with a second hand unit. It's a 2008 XC70.
Everything works (electric adjustment, heater, lights) but the memory feature does not.it doesn't move at all when I select the memory button- the driver mirror still works, as expected. Also, the flip down when reversing feature puts the mirror in completely the wrong place. Is there some sort of reset or other programming feature that I need to configure? |

I don't know if there have been mirrors specially intended for electrical operation wtihout memory? If the mirror is missing the position sensors, then you get this problem, since the control unit will not know where they are.
Or if the position sensors are there, but faulty or not properly connected. I know for sure you could purchase the car without memory but with electrical control of the mirrors, but there could of course still have been position sensors in the mirrors, albeit they were not used. With "second hand", I presume you mean from some used car, maybe wrecked? You don't know if that had electricallly operated driver's seat or not, do you? That was a prerequisite for mirror memory. So if the donor (assuming there was one) didn't have electrically operated driver's seat, then a mirror with no position sensors would have worked just fine in that car.
