Default Hanging Revs? and Emissions problem

Hi All

Had a 1994 850 4 door T-5 for 2 years now great car. Breezed its MOT Last year but this year its failed its emissions on tick over by 10X

should be 0.3 its 3.03

Not sure what that indicates fully apart from the obvious

But the garage was more concerned about the revs, if you hold the accelerator at a constant 2500 revs a minute slowly they climb n climb n climb upto 6000+ if you let them, have read a few topics here and with it being a turbo seems more complicated than a naturally aspirated car.

The guy reckons its either the lambada sensor, '' another '' sensor or the CAT itself

Anyone shed any light on this ??

thanks in advance Dave

Its pretty obvious , the exhaust gasses start to seriously turn the turbine at that speed but as there is no load it takes a while to accelerate up to 100,000 rpm pumping more air in hence the speed goes up , you have to ease off the throttle slightly to keep the rpm constant .
