Question

Hi, Can you tell me if this car has the 2.0 or the 2.3 engine, as this model was available with either.
Thanks,
Kevin.

There are some nice comments coming in about the car and I'm grateful for the feedback. My father in law would have been pretty pleased to see the comments.

The engine is the 2 litre version and it has the 5 speed manual gearbox.

I think we have most receipts from new and all the MOT certs too to verify it's authenticity.

I'm starting to think it could become a classic !

Hi Andrew thankyou for the email. As I said it ticks all the boxs bar one!I really need a 2.3l manual for tugging the caravan. And although I know yours will pull the van just like my 2.0l auto does it isn't really fair to it.That car is easily worth more than you asked for thier are plenty on ebay every now and then that fetch quite a bit.One owner and not knocked about is quite often the best bit along with service history.
The colour is very unusual and I really like it.Damn why so many two litre engines towards the end of production especially all those Torslandas.
I will just have to reasses my K reg 240 SE 2.3l manual.Yes I do have one already but if you see it in the flesh it's the exact opposite to yours.
Never looked after never serviced very grubby covered in moss,a scuttle full of pine needles dents scratches it just goes on.I can't grumble really it was parked up for nearly two years with a dog living in it and still started first time minus the exhaust and I paid a whopping £4.99 for it off ebay!!!!!!
Best of luck with the sale but don't give it away or it may get resold or broke for spares.
Regards Brian.

I almost overlooked the fact that I did myself own a 240 Estate around 1994.
Because my father in law had this one I liked the idea of the large load space for the family and dog.
It was a 2.3 litre engine which I seem to remember did have some pulling power.
The only drawback was it only had 4 gears !

Hi Andrew, some might disagree but I think you should be looking for twice what you are asking. Lovely car. Super condition.

I'd like to thank everyone who has given me feedback for this post.

Based on the comments I have recieved both here and privately I have decided to MOT the car and make sure it's running OK before offering it for sale at a more realistic price.

I will probably try the vehicle on Ebay so that any interested people can offer what they deem reasonable.

Will post the Ebay link when I get round to doing this.

Thanks again for all the interest and advice, much appreciated.

Andrew
