Arrow Facelift Petrol Owners

We don't hear that much from the petrol owners, I suspect because there are not many, but I would like to know about their experiences.

I remember one V8 owner on this forum passing comment that his new D5 only returned a very slight improvement in mpg, and of course was nowhere near as smooth or powerful.

If I had the money to sustain one, I would buy a V8 in a heartbeat. So...

Out of pure interest, I want to hear from the 2.5T, 3.2 and V8 owners.

Do you live in petrol stations, or are the rest of us missing something?

How do the mechanicals hold up? Any problems as suffered by some T6 owners?

Did you consider diesels? What made you decide on petrol?

Thanks.

Did all the petrol versions have the dodgy GM gearbox or did they resolve this in later years?

Just bought a secondhand 2006 T6 LPG

Don't like diesels, they are noisy and underpowered.

There is definately a premium on buying an LPG, I paid about £1,500 more, but the car was converted at 6k miles and has 84k miles now

it cost me £841 to have the tank moved and a tow bar fitted!! Next time I will check first.

Goes like stink on Petrol or LPG.

Getting about 11MPG around town, problem is my wife drives it to work, which is less than a mile, so the engine doesn't even warm up enough to switch to LPG.

Getting 28MPG on the motorway at 60, drops to 24MPG at 70.

13 gallon usable in the LPG tank, (76l)

Overall, fairly happy with it, learn't some lessons for next time though. I think overall costs will be the same as a diesel.

GM box, no problems in the month I've had it.
