Default Sat Nav DVD Faulty

Hi
I have an issue with the Sat Nav DVD player in my '53 plate XC90.
It started playing up a couple of weeks ago and I was getting an error message saying "DVD cannot be read"
I cleaned the disc, but this has not cured it.
I was thinking it could be that the lens in the player needs cleaning.
I have tried a DVD cleaning disc in the player, but it will not play and all I get is another error message saying "map disc not inserted, please insert map disc"
Any ideas please??
Thanks.

Couple of points.
I am hardly going to post my unit to you without first agreeing a cost now am I?

Secondly I thought this forum was a place where owners swapped info, ideas, advice and the like with a common interest of well being in the Volvo community, supporting each other in the most cost effective way possible.
I was not aware it was a place for people like you to advertise their services like a cheap online yellow pages.
Must be saving you a fortune.....

Had same problems with mine.. Got a DVD cleaner from the dealer here ( Canada) was about $20 Ill get the brand of cleaner disc for you in the morning.

If you do need a DVD player I'll give you the contact details for a Volvo breaker our here used him for alot if stuff... He sells the units for about $150.

Postage to England from past experience will be in the region of about $50 max.

This guy got nothing to do with me.. But found him very helpful since I moved from England a few years ago for anything European!
