1997 940 2.3 turbo estate for sale
We have replaced the 940 estate with an 850 estate. Hence we are seeing if anyone would like to save it. Here goes turquoise 1997 N reg. estate 2.3 turbo. 280000k miles. Needs head gasket and turbo otherwise everything else ok. Spent £1000 on timing belt and exhaust and plugs, distributor etc. alloy wheels also. Some MOT left. Looking for £250 for spares or repair but would like it kept on road if possible as it was a great car. 01213314341 we are in Birmingham.

Update
Well it looks like the dismantlers Monday. They offered £150 which isn't bad. If anyone in the meantime can offer the same to keep it on the road (the mechanic reckons its too good to scrap) great.

I'm interested...
Seems a great shame to scrap the old girl - I'd be interested in it, if nothing else it would be a good source of parts to keep mine going...

Oh, so sorry Doc for offering your car a home when I'm clearly not good enough - I would have happily paid the £250 you were asking - I paid £300 for a non runner 3 years ago which has more than paid for itself since then. Enjoy your paltry £150, and well done you for sticking to your morals and scrapping it, rather than allowing it to keep other Volvo's on the road...

Seems a shame to let it go for £150 to a dismantlers.
I too would have paid £250 to have kept it on the road, but like Volvanman, I'm not a club member either. Suppose I better pay my subscription to entitle me to buy things on here?

Sorry Jerry. I think there has been a communications breakdown. I meant yes it would be good for a club member to have it and not the dismantlers!! You are a club member!! This often happens when sending scripted messages. I'm not to good at English hence why I stuck to math.

I thought everyone was a club member on the forum. I made a mistake. I prefer for a forum using person to have the car not the dismantlers.
