V70 bumper damage
I'm in the process of repairing the front end of my V70 and I arranged for a courier to collect a bumper but from a photo they sent me on collection it looks damaged. Could I get some thoughts please on whether my body shop could still use this? it looks bent in the middle as if it has had something heavy on it in storage. It didn't have this damage on the eBay listing. TIA.

You have two options; -Let the body shop shape the bumper to how it should be and pay the cost for them to do that. -Return the part to the seller, as it wasn't as described. Although, then you'll have the hassle of getting a refund/returning and then sourcing another bumper.

thanks for the reply kev, think I might negotiate a partial refund and see what the body shop can do with a heat gun.

Heat can work miracles on dented plastic parts. I once nudged the front bumper of a Ford Focus when parking on a hot sunshine day and while the owner was ranting about the terrible damage to his car, the sun was warming up the bumper and the dent was slowly coming out. By the time he turned round to show me the damage when I said I couldn't see any damage, it had completely gone! Try a heat gun!

Hi, as a body repairer from what I can see in the picture I'd say your body shop should be able to heat that up and reshape it. However there could be further damage I can't see from your picture for example it may have splits along the edges where the grilles clip in, that may need welding or bonding. If so that's not to say it couldn't still be repaired but would be less straight forward.
