was thinking of getting 1 tomorrow.. only to see how the cover comes off.

i get the jist of the special tool. it threads into the spark plug holes for cyl 2 and 4 and has a bar across it to keep pressure on the cover so it doesnt just pop off. what i dont get is why isnt it even moving in the slightest even with prying, tapping, pulling, etc.. i feel like if i put any more force into trying to get the cover off ill break it doing so.

Default rocker cover

my rocker cover wouldn't come off easy either. i used a long prybar and gently prised off . it is on dowels . my one didn't have any gasket on it anywhere . it was tighter on the rear of the engine but with wiggling and gentle levering it came free . what about levering yours at both ends simultaneously ?

thats what i was thinking.. it must be stuck on the dowells. i see some tabs on the front and back which look like they are for levering the cover off. a mate of mine whos a mobile mechanic is coming over today and were both going to have a bash at it.

yeoo! rocker cover is off.. used some of the covers bolts to keep pressure on the cover while levering the tabs that stick out off the sides of the cover to work it loose bit by bit.
