Default Air Con. Relay/Fuse

Hi,

A liitle help required please. I have a 1996 940 2.3 LPT and there doesn't seem to be any power getting to the air con pump when switched on. I would imagine that there is a relay or fuse for this but i have no idea where it is.
Please help.

Regards Tim

Fuse 16 supplies ignition power to the fan speed selector and the AC controls (centre of dash at top). The feed for the compressor clutch comes from pin 10 of the AC controls unit (14 pin connector at rear of unit). This feeds through the Low Pressure sensor then the High Pressure sensor to the compressor clutch. The LP sensor goes open circuit when there is a large loss of refrigerant. This means check your refrigerant pressure as you have probably suffered a loss of refrigerant. If it needs refilling use the refrigerant that comes with compressor lubricant and leak indicator dye already mixed in. It comes in pressurised cans so that filling can be achieved via the valve on the condensor. After refilling, check for leaks. The dye is fluorescent and shows up pretty well.

All the best, Peter.

Peter,
Many Thanks,
As you suspected it was not an electrical problem at all.
A feeder pipe had sprung a leak.
All fixed now and ice cold again.

Cheers
Tim
