Low mileage d4 and polestar
I'm looking at one of the first new generation d4's autos and even though it nearly 3 years old , it's only done 20k. Should I be worried about dpf problems and I was wondering what people thought of polestaring a d4?
The car is for sale at a Volvo dealers so would have the balance if the factory warranty.

We bought my wife's V40 D3 auto at 3 1/2 years old with only 17,000 miles on the clock and there have certainly not been any dpf problems with it.
Polestar would be nice but, to be honest, the performance is good enough as it is, so a D4 should satisfy most drivers as standard.

Dpf's a non issue on the Volvo blocks, may have issues with the egr, but Volvo have extended the warranty for a long time due to premature failures, good chance it's been changed already, but a mate of mine had his done under Volvo even tho it had 90k on it and well out of warranty

I have a D4 190 15 plate. (my16) manual bought at 1 year old .
Car is used for 1.5 mile daily school runs, but we do give it a weekend run. No dpf issues and have covered 14k miles in our possession . Cars now done 24k. Did have the egr mod done under warranty after a couple of months into ownership. No other problems at all. Winter get 40mpg around town. Summer averages 52 mpg. Motorway it will do 62 mpg sticking to 70. i'm so impressed with the economy considering the power. Myself i cannot decide whether to get it polestared but a 10 ps gain for £800 quid seems poor, although the torque gain interests me. Gains are further with the auto as it livens up the auto box. Wet cooler weather front wheel traction is very poor cannot use the power available. I'm going to change the tyres to all seasons soon to help the traction issues. Don't think i would like to run it without extended warranty though. |

the Polestar upgrade will cost the dealer peanuts see if you can get them to include it as part of the deal.
Is the older D4 a 4 or 5 cylinder engine? |
