4 wheels with tyres (preferably 16")
I'm provisionally looking for a cheap set of 16" wheels (steel or alloy) with legal(ish) tyres to stick on my XC70 in the event that insurance company decide to write it off. My alloys have recently been refurbed and the tyres are pretty new but I'm certain that investment isn't going to be reflected in the value they are likely to offer. Would prefer somewhere Wiltshire / Hampshire area to make collection easier but may be able to travel further afield or arrange courier for the right price. Cheers.

You are entitled to redeem your car at 16% of agreed payout.
Your insurance company never OWN your car btw. |

Thanks, that's interesting. So if they offer £1000 (for instance), I could pay £160 and continue to use it, repair it, or strip it for parts?

This may only be applcable to CAT D economic write offs, possibly up to CAT C. requiring a VIC (vehicle identity check) before returning vehicle to the road. It does vary between companies, and i'm only a bystander, not an expert. Important to get best offer you can first, then make your offer to keep at minus 16%. or whatever their % is.
