Sump plug

I fear that the sump plug on my 24TIC diesel has stripped the thread into the ali sump.
Does any body know what the size is, I darent take it out now to see what the thread size is. I can buy a helicoil thread to repair it if I know what size it is.
I would think it must be metric, and plug has a hex internal drive slot.

hi i have replaced my sump plug with a plug that you can attach a plastic /rubber hose to then turn the nurrled end by hand to open and shut of oil it was about £28 i think so not cheap , i have just checked the diameter of my plug i removed which i now keep as a spare the size is about 17.5 mm with calipers touching the thred . but main dealer shoud be able to help best it has allen key fitting . o my new plug does not need a sump washer so a little saving on each oil change
