  • VOC Members: There is no login facility using your VOC membership number or the details from page 3 of the club magazine. You need to register in the normal way

Default Fun and games with the Phone

OK so recently I have had a weird scenario.
So driving along on the phone (before you start, I know). Anyway back to the story, driving along talking. All of a sudden the car appears to drop the call, Spotify fires up (B*gger me, as it was trying to connect prior to the call and I was driving in silence as usual). 5 seconds pass Spotify cuts out and we return to the call, The person on the other end of the line can apparently here the music and me swearing at the stupid car phone kit. This is now happening on most calls whilst driving (before you start, I know). Its OK when its a colleague but when its a customer it can be a little tricky guessing what has been said in the 5 missing seconds...
Anyone got a fix for it? Its happening in a colleagues S90 as well as my V90.

Not had the calls drop yet, in my XC90. But I also don't use the in-car Spotify app. Not sure if that's somehow interfering.

Use in car Spotify and make calls, they have never interfered with each other.

Do you mean with your phone in both cars, or both cars with different phones?

Edit: I also use both Spotify & Bluetooth and all works fine...

Hi

2018 XC90 -use spotify and iphone X, the only trouble I have is very occasionally with Carplay.

Do you have carplay or bluetooth ?

What phone?
One of my colleagues has an Outlander and same happens to him when he uses is Microsoft phone - dealers have looked at it and don't have an answer

Hi all the phone is an iPhone. The weird thing is the car and phone have worked perfectly for the past 12 months. Then all of a sudden it starts acting weird. I wonder if it is down to the background updates Tem started a thread about recently. Who knows? I doubt even Volvo do....

I have exactly the same issue. My17 XC90 has just had the big software update and assumed it must be the issue. My car is booked in next week, I’ll see what they say.

Have you also noticed your Volvo isn't as fast as it used to be? Maybe Apple have downloaded some new code in the background...
