Default merry christmas everyone, please help my v50 wont start !

hi everyone & merry christmas.

i have a problem with my 2004 2.0d v50
got in the car this afternoon and it refuses to start.
the display reads "engine system service required"
any ideas what the problem is ?
any help would be gratefully recieved !.

i have noticed over last week that it has not been as quick to start & little noisier when cold, this might have somthing to do with the problem ?

hope someone can help

thanks in advance
Ryan

just tried tapping the throttle body, no joy.

each time i try to start the car, i can hear a slow waring, pump sort of noise that gradually gets faster/higher pitched . i dont recall the noise prior to the problem.

thanks
