hello.
i have an oil leak from my nearside driveshaft. should i get it fixed or buy a transit van ?

your driveshaft is solid metal - there is no oil in it

Check your indicator fluid



only joke, check oil aint leaking from somewhere above the driveshaft and its drippin onto the driveshaft

It's probably the bellows on the differential housing. You can get one from Volvo or Renault (the R21 gearbox I believe) but last time I checked it was cheaper from Volvo. The control arm will need to be split from the hub in order to remove the drive shaft.

Default oil seal

You can get your seal replaced.Removal of the drive shaft is needed to get old one out. Or it might be the rubber bellows. Had mine replaced last year both seal and bellows. Looks as if it has split inspection will tell you .

thanks, will maybe get it looked at, the driveway is looking oily. may just park it down the road instead.
