Default Leaky sunroof

Anyone got any ideas for a leaky sunroof on my 740 turbo estate. I heard its a common problem when they get older. Apparently you can't get a new seal because its bonded to the sunroof. And a new sunroof is £300! I've used some clear sealant in the corners but if its pouring wth rain it still gets through. Any ideas? I'm getting fed up sitting on a wet seat!

Have you checked the drain pipes?

Are they the channels which run down the A posts?

Mat,
If your roof drains check out OK (2 front 2 rear) you may find that the water is getting in under the rails in which the roof slides.
Mine was cured by slackening the screws holding the mechanism to the roof, lifting it slightly and putting silicon sealer in the gap and refitting.
Colin.

Thanks for that - I'll give it a go (when it stops raining!)
