Gas struts on V90 tailgate - Page 2

I think my tailgate struts were fitted upside down! I see from the wad of old servicing invoices that came with the car that the struts were replaced in 2012 by a North London Volvo garage! Dave, I followed your reasoning about self lubricating and that the larger diameter section of the strut should be attached to the tailgate. Mine most definitely not that way fitted, but now they are so maybe I'll get more life from them.
Incidentally I went onto VOC to see if there was an illustration of the tailgate, but despite entering the username and password given in the month's Driver I was not allowed in to see the V90 brochure. Perhaps someone from VOC could check the info given. Derek Vivian
