Default Key fob re-programme

Evening all

How do you re-programme the central locking key fob after battery replacement?

I'm buying a car tomorrow that needs this doing to.

Any info?

Cheers

Hopefully someone will be along soon to point you in the right direction. I seem to remember that there may be a technical requirement that the car doors (-interior light /alarm switches) be in the closed position when programming.

Just noticed that this post is pretty vague. The car in question is a 97 V90.

Cheers

Is there a different procedure if it's just fitted with Volvo Guard 1 alarm?

If I'm honest I think the key fob just needs the batteries replacing but I thought I'd ask.

Cheers

Default Programming remote fob V90

If it helps to know I have a V90 1997 and recently re programmed the remote fobs(3 of them) and did it by following the appropriate page in the owners manual page 2:5 or 2:6 depending if the car has an alarm. Firstly though I bought new batteries CR1220 from a seller on eBay then set to and programmed all 3 remotes at the same time (well within 10 seconds of each other as per instructions. ) that done I tested each one to see if it worked. If not then do it again ensuring doors were closed. Good luck!
