Actually they want £120 as I have the old loom!
Anyone know if the S60, S80 all share the same sensors? Need to check ebay for any breaking! |

Forgot to add I keep getting getting 'transmission Service required' thrown up at the same time.
I keep clearing the codes, drive 2-3 miles and happens again. I need to sort this asap but need to know what sensors will fit? I cannot justify £130 for the said sensor/sensors. Someone must know if S80, S60 or others fit?? |

It's very likely a sensor from any Volvo car with the same gearbox at around the same age will fit.
But it seems you have a rare fault so there is not much knowledge among the members, I'm sure if there was they'd share it. |

Thanks for your response. At present the input and output sensors are joined to the same harness, Volvo advised this was the early version it was later revised so that the input and output had their own harness and could be detached right at the sensor.
Do you have a photo of the new style sensor by any chance? I need to see if I could simply get a new sensor and splice into the wiring or if a specialist connector is required? That way I can get away with spending just £50 as opposed to £150 for the two + harness. Volvo have advised as it is electrical goods refunds are not accepted. Unless of course someone knows of a geartronic being broken....? Thanks |

Reference to a similar problem but with the other (vehicle speed) sensor:
http://www.volvoforums.org.uk/showth...ighlight=P1618 Are you sure the sensor itself is faulty and not the wiring? Have you measured the sensor resistance and compared it with the other one? |

I checked the wiring and I couldn't find any issue. Checked the resistance of both sensors using my multimeter and neither would register anything??
I'm interested in the physical appearance of the revised sensor to see how they are connected. Don't suppose you have a pic? Can't seem to find any online... |
