Default S60 CEM Removal

Hi, I've been having a recurring fault with my instrument cluster dying then coming back to life and showing SRS airbag service urgent. I sent the DIM away to Spokoluzik who found no fault with it.

I'm now going to send my CEM for repair, can anyone point me in the direction of a walk through guide for removal and refitting it?

If no fault is found with the CEM does anyone know what the next course of action would be to find the cause of this problem?

Thanks

Rob

That is a typical symptom of a faulty DIM , but what did the fault code suggest?
The repairer must have caught it at a "working" moment ...

I had a load of codes from when the DIM was taken out. Once the DIM was back in and the codes were cleared the only ones that remained were for faulty cruise control, air quality sensor and mirror motor signal.

Edit: and alarm siren

These are from before the codes were cleared, I think most of them are due to the DIM being out of the car.

Thanks bugeye.

Am I right in thinking pre 04 cars are affected by CEM issues? Most threads I've read are concerning post 04. The car does get pretty hot inside of late with the warm weather and the DIM issue seems to show itself when the weather cools slightly.

The DIM is now completely dead apart from the engine light when the key is in position 1.

It's definitely CEM related. I've just given it a little wiggle and the DIM has come back to life.
