I have ordered and just received some bulbs from Alex. He is a super chappie to deal with and highly recommend. I now just have to fit the fiddly little b*****s.

I have just fitted the new bulbs from Alex in the heater panel and info switch. An easy job if you follow the guides, although a bit fiddly to handle the bulbs, especially if you have farmer boy fingers and dodgy eyesight like me.
The info switch has two bulbs and I managed to salvage the blue caps and refit. The heater panel bulbs still had the blue caps but were welded solid to the bulb, there was no way I could salvage them. Only one bulb had failed, but I replaced all three and did not bother trying to mess about with the caps. Having refitted everything I can confirm Druids comments, there is no need to fit the blue caps as there is no obvious difference in brightness or colour. I need to tackle the light switch cluster tomorrow. |

Interesting about the bulb caps, now you tell me . I've ordered some anyway for the heater panel bulbs from the guy in the US, should be with me inside a week or so. It does seem that the heater ones are the ones that melt the most but still trying to find the right colour for the headlight ones - I have found a company in the UK that seems to make the caps here, so there may be hope.
