Maybe it's time to give up...
Well I got my DICE / Vida kit today thanks to cheshired5 for the top service!
The fault codes are rather depressing along with the list of other stuff on the car I think it's time to call it quits... CDM-000B Outside temperature sensor Faulty signal CCM-443 Fan motor Current too high CCM-414 Fan motor passenger compartment temperature sensor Faulty signal ECM-644A Camshaft control - Faulty signal VGLA-311 Siren Faulty signal ECM-9150 Throttle position (TP) sensor 1 - Faulty signal CDM-000D Communication ECM Internal fault The non-code issues are: Needs replacement headlights 2 Front tyres ( I know they're wear and tear items but still adds to the overall cost of sorting the car ) There's an awful creaking noise coming from somewhere when you move the steering wheel since the steering rack was replaced ( No one can find what's causing it ) Paint work isn't in great condition these days ( Previous owner stored it in a field as a project car and never did anything with it ) Drivers door no longer unlocks from the fob Drivers window pulley broke Auto-dimming mirror leaked it's ink out I've enjoyed the car while I've had it but it's just causing too many problems |

Hi MrJames
That does sound like a lot of things to be fixed. If you offer it for sale, here or somewhere else, someone else may be able to resurrect it or part it out. Is it driveable and with a current MOT? Photos, model details, registration number, any recent parts fitted or service history, all help when you sell, so people can work out what works and what doesn't. Steve

Yea it drives just fine, in fact it got a brand new MOT on it last week!
Once I decide what to do with it and it's replacement I was going to basically call the scrapyard and see what they would give me then sell it to someone for that amount to break it, there's definitely usable parts on it, in fact the steering rack was a brand new one from volvo and it's done about 2 years service! It was a whole big mess caused by a leaking refurb rack that ended up with that happening ( I still have the invoice for the rack ) I don't have the space or time to break it myself but would rather it go to someone that can make sure the parts are used to keep more of them on the road! |

Have you tried clearing the codes off and checking if they return? (unfortunately can't cure worn tyres that way)

Unfortunately they do, the CDM-000D Communication ECM Internal fault code came back instantly The ETS light has been on and off for a while but every time I start to drive now it turns on, I tried doing the test on Vida but it says the software version on the ECM is too old and needs to be updated first |
