DICE not talking to VIDA

Running VIDA in a Win 7 Pro 64 bit environment with Explorer 11 loaded.
With DICE connected to the car I get the usual USB connection sound when connecting to the PC. The drivers seemed to load correctly and DICE shows up in Device Manager, claims it is working correctly and that the driver is up to date.

Yet when I run VIDA there is no sign of my DICE in the Connection box, and therefore no connection to the car.

Green Firmware light flashes correctly, and the USB light flashes for about 3 seconds when connecting to the PC, but then goes out.

This feels like a software configuration issue rather than hardware, but obviously I could be wrong.

Does anyone have a fix?

If the Dice is dead, there is no fix other than a new Dice.
Unfortunately the laptop recognising the Dice and lights flashing don't guarantee a fully functioning Dice.

Hi

If you can try it on someone's VIDA to test. I ended up looking for damage in the DICE unit.
I found a dry joint in my DICE unit.

Sounds like I need to open it up and look for poor soldering.

Is there anyone within striking distance of Amersham who would be willing to let me check my DICE against their known VIDA setup?
