Hello. I’ve still got the problem. Volvo didn’t know either. I’ve tried to have a look at the cables coming from it but I would have to pull the carpet up to have a look properly. I was also wondering if a ac compressor clutch could cause the issue? But that’s a new rabbit hole to go down

i kind of fixed this problem. the car was idling rough with all of the symptoms mentioned in this thread and a similar history; last owner remapped it and the same ecu codes.
my mech assumed that faulty injectors were to blame so I got them to a shop where they were tested on a bench and 1 of them was reconditioned. I must add that it still had the rough idle after reconditioning. afterwards I went to the Volvo center to get the injectors remapped to the new parameters (the shop that refurbished couldnt code newer ---298 ones) and no more rough idling! i guess coding itself and Volvo center removing the engine map fixed the rough idle issue. p.s. i added the injector test result pics before and after, might come in handy for someone or whatever. as far as i understand they interpret for 5 new ones (except no2) |

Well after probably 3-4 years of fiddling I’ve finally got to the bottom of my problem. I recoded the diesel injectors via Vdash at the cost of £14. Took 5mins and it’s perfect now

Hello and good evening to all!
2008 V70 D5 185bhp AWD having the exact same symptoms from the youtube video you showed. Even under the slightest load (Gear lever on D or R with park brake on) the engine idles smooth as butter. I recently bought a VIDA dice clone, but is it possible to use it with VDASH for injector recoding? I think I am capable of DIY-ing it, because Volvo dealers where I live are complete crooks and independent shops refuse to work on Volvos (except oil changes and suspension work). Is there a tutorial or step by step instructions which I can follow? The car has other pending problems, which I will be addressing in the near future. - worn swirl flaps and actuator arm - valve cover oil leak - a slight leak around the lower right part of intercooler (I assume it has a hole in it somewhere) - rear tailgate struts slowly dropping (only in cold weather, during the summer they work fine, but I will be replacing them) Otherwise I love it, pretty comfortable car with decent power. A joy to ride on the motorway. Regards, Nick |

I recently checked my injector codes with VDash and they match perfectly. Unless Volvo numbers the cylinders from right to left (cyl. 1 the nearest to gearbox), the codes matched with what I saw when removed engine cover. It would be worth recoding them, just for peace of mind? |

It’s still perfect for me, the injector codes matched in vdash for me too but I thought I would try it out. Took about 2 minutes and a very simple process. Just follow the instructions and you can’t go wrong. I’m pretty sure the clone dice work with vdash. I’m using a mongoose clone and I’ve had no problems
