Just noticed a big 'oops' in my post. The tail should definitely NOT wag the dog. Ah well the wine is having an effect.

used own 1992 1.6 440li,was new engine 1992 replacing 1.7 standard until 1991,over 250000 miles 1.6li,i and xi all alloy unit, very lightweight.torque output good and tow the elldis cosicar 1970 but not using the 5th gear.
be careful rear silencer gets hot so let cool. fine up to 50mph. should fit 185/60 14 tyre replace the 155 or 165 section for sidewall stability no need the swaybar.the 185 size cheaper also since more popular!!! 440 one of best volvos ever driven big tip for you to stop the engine overheating or fan cutting in,turn heater to HOTmaximum at all times to draw heat from engine, always when sitting in the traffic or temp gauge rises heck of lot steering not have power steering but steering very light,no tyre wear problem for downhill use the engine breaking stay gear 3 not use the footbrake for 440 1.6 has drums rear. when pull away not touch the accelerator to stop from tyre spin, anti stall valve will increase rev stop stalling, always do this for the wet grass site great car, very envious,1.6 best engine, better than 2.0 or 2.0 turbo |
