Headlamp relay, '71 144DL.
Howdo.
Does anyone in forum-land have either a new or used headlamp relay for my 144, failing that does anyone have the PART NUMBER for a '71 144 headlamp relay so I can see if Rufe at FRF in Swansea has one? Thanks in advance, Nick H. |

I have various relays kicking about. Can you post a picture of the one you need; and I'll see if I have one? John |

Relay
Just had a peek under Monica's bonnet, and looked in my 140 series Haynes book.
Funnily enough, the lighting relay is the only one without a part number on! I hope the following will be helpful: All 140 cars seem to have had the same six-terminal relay, pin numbers 81a, 56a, 56b, 15, 31b, and 56. Have you tried a breakers? Any chance the headlamp relay from an early 240 might be the same? Jack |

Hey John, how are you?
This is a snap of the relay bar (with a AA battery on top of the headlamp relay for scale... ... and this is the relay in close-up. As you can see from the bottom of the casing, we've tried some remedial servicing but all that happens now when I pull on the stick is the dip beam goes out and stays out or, after a two second time lag, the main beam comes on - not very conducive to safe night-time driving, I reckons! Thanks for looking, Nick. |

Try:
http://www.hella.com/produktion/Hell.../Brt-Hella.pdf Has reference to your relay - I think! See page 49. It's the wholesale price list for Hella Norway for 2007 In Norwegian - 'Avblenderrele' loosely translates as Dazzler Relay I think! I'd like to track this down too - just in case mine ever goes plop!
