Might be worth looking at the Caravan Club, their Red Pennant insurance is very good; just book "motoring only" cover for the three days you want.

Why one way cover?
Try Greenflag i used them this summer and the were a lot cheaper than the AA Just take out the cover for the 3 days you are traveling. |

You could always get the car serviced before you go, then make use of the Volvo breakdown cover that comes as part of the Service Promise. A freshly serviced car, with latest software and 12 months European Breakdown cover - seems like a good investment to me.

I think because the journey must begin and end in the UK.Yearly policies generally cover any amount or a certain amount of trips outside the UK in any one given year, but only for up to a specified number of days being spent outside the UK eg 28 days for example.

Just give one of them a call. I have annual cover with the AA as they are the only company that will cover my boat trailer due to it being over 7m. I wanted europian cover for my holiday to France but the wanted silly money, i went with green flag and got a 14 day policy with them. Just say your going away for five days or what ever their shortest period is. |

We are using the german ADAC. They cover you even though there is no german address and they do not mind if you are abroad 365 days unlike most UK breakdown organistions. They are also much comprehensive with their cover at a lower price.
