V70 D5252 2.5 Horrendous oil consumption

Hi

Having only done 101k and serviced 700 miles ago I checked the oil this morning to find 3/4 of the sump had gone!.No signs of blue smoke only the usual black smoke on kick down.Any ideas please.

Thanks,It's the only thing that would make sense.I'm not 100 percent sure it's spooling up as I haven't heard it for a while,though it isn't seized.

Check the breather on the rocker box isn't blocked - this can cause all sorts of issues on these engines - order a new one from VW, as Volvo want a kings ransom for one of these... Same as a VW transporter ACV engine...
