*FOR SALE* 1998 s40 1.8

Hi all,

Having to sell my trusted S40 shortly.... the wife wanted a bigger car, and with there being 5 of us, even a V40 was not going to be big enough.

Its a 1998 (R) S40 1.8
c98k miles
Lots of history, (not FSH as I have serviced it myself since I have had it... btw - service is due)

Things I have done to it...

• Genuine Egg Crate Grill
• Black bezel headlights & Indicators
• Boot spoiler (paint job is not very good... it was my first attempt at painting .....ever!! - 6th photo)
• Wheel arch extenders from a T4 all round
• Aux Input mod for the original SC805 stereo (with code)
• Replaced the air recirculation motor to fix the clicking noise
• Replaced the clutch master cylinder, as the clutch pedal started 'clicking'
• Replaced gear stick gaiter, as the old one had split

Apart from the above couple of 'mods', the car is stock standard. There is no rust on the bodywork, there are a few small scratches and a couple of small dinks, but nothing major (they are so small they won't show in photographs). The largest was from a previous owner who appears to have had a very slight bump nsr corner - the bumper has a crack and there was a scrape which has been touched up with a touch up stick, not brilliantly (last photo).

Inside, there are no rips or tears in any of the seats/carpets. It has the original Volvo rubber floormats, although the passenger side one has nail varnish on it. (I did tell SWMBO not to paint her nails whilst the car was moving... but I was ignored - this is the result)

Mechanically wise, the drive drives fine. Between services I have never had to top up the water or oil. Thermostat was replaced c6 months ago, as it started to run a little cool. When the car is cold, very very occasionally the clutch judders a little

Everything works as it should do:

• the computer works fine
• the aircon is cold
• cruise control works perfectly
• electric windows are fine
• electric mirrors are fine

MOT was done end of February 2012, next due end of Feb 2013 (initially failed on both rear brake lines rusted and a droplink - all renewed)
Tax runs out end of Feb 2013

The cars still for sale.... Can't bear to put it on ebay and sell it to any joe blogs. I'd rather it either went to someone who would appreciate it, or will keep it and play!!!! Even though it is older (1998) it is in excellent condition!!!
