Just a thought.... are you sure it's the blower motor? The resistor packs in the heater boxers fail far more regularly and give the same symptoms

Hi mate.
As steve says.
However if you find that it is deffinatly the motor,i have one.
Why not take your motor out and run it accross the battery.
That will tell you if it is working or not.
Cheers Mark.

Hi Robert...

Glad to hear you're getting somewhere with sorting the problem. The resistor pack for the blower is located inside the heater box under the engine bay. You will have to take the whole black heater box out and seperate the two halves. It's held into the heater box with two screws and has 4 electric connections to it.

Try asking here or on Volvo 300 Mania, someone should come up with a good used spare. Unfortunately you can't buy them from Volvo anymore

Pretty much any heater resistor pack works electrically though. I've used mk2 golf ones before, from ECP new for 16 quid (or were).

You need to change the spades to bullets though, but it's not hard, and I'll happily talk you through it when I'm near a mk2 golf resistor again, or whatever else you happen to find!
