Default Red warning lights

Some of you are advanced with intelligence and have a logical Mind: where some have to use Trial and error to get to the seat of the Problem; Almost a Month ago I had somebody change My Rear discs and one Caliper: there was very little Brake fluid that dripped out: well I asked the Guy if I Need to Top it up with Brake Fluid ?? He told me no and I took him to his word ! Anyway all seemed well and the Brakes came on Perfect: but within that Month when I went round a sharp Bend I would see a Flicker of a red Light of which was only for a nano second: I'd try to Locate where this red light was coming from: I had No Idea what this Light was supposed to be telling Me ? Then One day last week the Red light Came on as I was driving: it Lasted for about a Minute and then went Back off again: then the Light Came Back on: I Knew then it was something to do with the Discs or to the Brakes: it was then that I now remembered the Guy Changing the Caliper where A small amount of Brake fluid dripping out of the pipe when he had to Change the Caliper! On checking the Oil level the oil Level was Much too low !!! The Oil was at Low level. I came to a Conclusion why for a nano second there was a red light that came on: There is a Float Chamber of which tilts whenever the Car would Bank around the corner and when it tilts the Red light would Flash for that nano second; Now before I topped it up with Fluid I noticed that the Sides of the Chamber had a Black Tide Mark (like when you take a Bath ) there is a Mark on the Side of the Bath : There were also Flakes of Black stuff floating within the Oil: I Knew that Brake fluid acts just like Paint stripper and came to the conclusion that the Rubber Hose that is connected to the Chamber was being Gradually being Peeled away where the rubber was being Flushed into the Unit: It was then that I Used a rag to Clean the chamber out and then Topped it up with Brake fluid oil NO More Red Light !!!

If that was the state of the fluid in the reservoir, imagine what it's like in the calipers and the rest of the system where it's actually doing some work.

Flush it all through and renew it.

The recommended replacement schedule for brake fluid is 2 to 3 years, so if yours has black bits floating in it, then it sounds like it's well overdue for renewal (possibly along with other rubber pipes and seals in the system).

Don't just flush the system. The reservoir needs emptying and all the black bits removing first. If they get flushed into the master cylinder, it can damage the internal piston seals.
