Default Replace stop start battery V90 question

Hi, did a search but could not find any info on changing the stop start battery, just wondering if there's anything to look out for.

It just needs to be an AGM type

The stop start only works after long runs and today the electric tailgate stopped working until the car had run for a while. just wanted to know if there was any particular procedure to removing and replacing the battery.

Very unlikely start stop battery has failed, it’s only there to provide power when the engine has stopped due to the start stop cutting in. You don’t say what model of car you have or it’s year, which would be helpful in trying to help you with your fault

It could cost you a lot of money by guessing , you will probably find it is just the battery below 80% charged due to short journeys but there are a dozen other reasons why it may not be working , Please read your owner's manual .

I would charge the battery for a long time with a 20A battery charger , 24 hours + is preferable as the last 20% takes twice as long as the first 80% .
going for a long drive does not necessarily charge the battery fully .
Things are very technical now , even battery / alternator / control systems !

if you're still under warranty go to the dealer. I had problems since I bought my (2017) car, and finally they changed the battery last month, and its working fine now (without needing to go on 100's miles drive or use battery charger). The problem is they need a 'fault' code to get replacement authorised.

I know on this Forum others have reported the same problem with the same 'final' solution.

More than likely , but you need to start with a known fully charged battery first and see how it goes ... It would save a lot of time ,dealers don't seem to have the time or space to do this .
