Are you a member of the Volvo owners club? If so you can take advantage of the affinity deal on the new V60 - its £4.5K discount and if you take the Volvo finance you get another £2000 off. (metallic paint also free).

Oh and the finance is 0% if you have a large enough deposit (2% if you don't).

for £30 membership fee it seems like a no brainer if your going to buy a new one.

I agree though, it is a lot with nothing to show. A company car allowance softens the blow a little.

In your situation I'd lease. You only pay for the use and hand it back at the end. You are not tying up the full price of the car up front.

OK, buying it you could opt to keep it a bit longer however you mention having a company car allowance to help fund the car. What is the company policy regarding age of vehicle ? Some companies put an age limit on an allowance funded vehicle.

Buy a 3 year old ex company vehicle with a solid service history. You will save a minimum of 50% off the list price and it will be just about as good as new.

Avoid new car depreciation like the plague. No matter how its dressed up financially, the first owner always takes the biggest hit.

Sounds a bit mental buying a brand new car when you're just going to put lots of miles on it/wear it out over 3 years and be faced with a monumental loss at the end.

Far better off buying one that's a few years old, lost most of it's initial depreciation and drive it for 5 years or so, makes much more financial sense anyway but each to their own

Buy what you like if you can afford it, you are gonna spend a large portion of your life in your car, make it as pleasant as possible!!
