I have HS6s, and found a repair kit in the US for a reasonable price https://mossmotors.com/catalogsearch...cat=&q=375-578

Have been reading all the info suggested by you and the other members, and don't really know what the problem is. There is no vent hole in front carb! I will take both carbs apart and install the repair kits, tune per instructions, and see how it turns out. Should have everything here hopefully by Friday next. adarvasi;
...the cover for atmospheric venting can clearly be seen under the fuel hose of the left picture... |

Absolutely right, I was looking for a similar orifice as the rear one!
Thank you Ron |

I think Ron will say yes.
See this link, first 3 or 4 pictures. They may help you visualize the situation. https://sites.google.com/site/fifers...wPrintDialog=1 In addition to everything else that has been mentioned about what might cause the carburetor to overflow, It also may be possible for the fuel pump to have too much pressure. The SU carbs only require about 3 psi of fuel line pressure. If you have an aftermarket fuel pump it might be rated at too high a pressure. My money (of course, I never bet more than $1) is riding on a leaking float as your cause of overflow. Initially you did not seem to have this overflow problem. My guess is that it took a few days of gasoline sitting in the float chamber for the float to slowly fill with fuel and sink to the bottom - or at least to the point where the float wouldn't rise high enough to shut the needle valve. |

adarvasi; The only time you can see the venthole below fuel inlet is if the little cover has been removed... so the one you saw was actually not the typical situation...
bo90; Thanks for link with additional info! Cheers |

The short flex pipe from the bowl to the jet can also leak at the gland where the pipe exits the bowl
