Default Anyone throwing out an old v70 auto radiator?

Unfortunately my V70 T5 auto has an oil leak from the top drivers side oil hose connector, despite new clips and seals it still leaks, upon inspection it looks like the male hose connector may have a small nick in it which under pressure leaks oil. My car is a 97 plate and an auto 850 radiator at the scrapyard was different so sourcing just this connector which is removable from an old radiator rather than buying a compete radiator is proving harder than I anticipated, if anyone has a scrap automatic radiator and wishes to help me out i'm happy to pay a tenner plus postage just for a good usable connector that would of most likely otherwise of been going to the tip. I'll try to get a picture up of the bit I mean for clarification, Cheers.

Hello

I am not 100% sure but as far as I remember it, the connector on the hose is male, which would mean that the connector on the radiator is female.

A photo would confirm.

More importantly, I am not sure that the connector on the radiator is removable. If I remember I tried to undo a similar connector on the radiator of a V90 and it simply ripped out of the plastic radiator - it didn't unscrew. Therefore if someone twists theirs out, you may not be able to screw it back into your radiator. When you remove your own old connector you will find out (but it might put the car out of action until you replace the rad).

But most importantly, if that connection fails while you are driving you will lose a lot of ATF and risk destroying your gearbox. Is it worth the risk?

Hope that helps,
Steve

I'm just changing my rad now. You are welcome to it. Though it does have a slight water and oil leak, nothing bad yet but not ideal. Mine is a 98 t5 if that's any help.

Pmed Coachwhip but incase it doesn't match i've finally got around to getting a picture of the offending part, it's the connector below the radiator rubber hose with a jubilee clip on it. For some reason my image host of choice no longer lets me edit and draw on pictures but it's hard to miss, cheers.

Hi, yeah I've got your message but not able to reply as not enough posts.

I've still got it, but the connector is not a hex like yours. It's just a smooth circle. Not sure if mine is original or not but it's not the same as yours though. I'll get some grips on it and see if it'll still undo though.
