2 Keys per P1800
So does this mean each Volvo p1800 has 2 keys, one for exterior locks and one for ignition?

Yes mate two keys.
The original ignition switches were made by assa, and the door locks were made by wilmott and breeden. (British) I have bought door locks from, The lock man, Peter Weston. Tel.01213546059. This was a few years back. I don't know if he is still in business. If so he maybe worth a call. Hope this helps Dave |

If, after fitting new door lock barrels, you find that the door locking mechanisms are worn, then replacements can be difficult to source. The drivers door mechanism on RHD cars is usually the one that tends to wear out due to greater use, so the solution is to try and source a good replacement from a LHD car (I bought one from Chris in Oregon and the lock now works as it should)

If the ignition barrel has no marks on the front, it's a Neiman. If it says ASSA on the front then its an Assa. If it says TEKA (very rare) then it's a Teka.
Odds are it's a Neiman, those blanks are #NE10 in the Silca brand. Get them in steel and you will happy with many years of life out of them. The brass one crack over time... Chris |

thats not the ignition barrel its the armoured coil the barrel is the bit inside it from which you would insert the key it can be taken out of that armored coil by a small pin from side but you need the key in to slightly turn it with a wiggle it releases it - slides out in your hand bingo you have the barrel to check or change for a new one
also view the last picture you can just make out a small Dot on the smaller section to right of the silver areas thats what you need to push in
