Same here. Sending wheels by courier and packaging them...... Ball ache!

When I got my 5.5J's all those years ago, I was told they were proper Volvo ones, but they're REALLY not and have been banded. 2 of them have to have loads of weights to sort out the wonk. But all those years ago there wasn't the back up when things went wrong and the seller went silent on me. However, I wanted the wide wheels and kept them.

Julian, it would be useful to have the link to this auction, if only to keep an eye on the seller. I had one go at doing a completed search and only got a set of Brookhouse wheels. Could you also take some photos of them including the stamped markings around the hub please. Would be good to know exactly what you have. If the 5 1/2" ones are "real" it would be useful to know the numbers on those. Thanks.

I managed to get a pair of 5.5" steels from eBay last year for £60. I need to give them a rub down to see if they're real or not. I stuck an early 4" steel with it for comparison.

When the time comes I'll probably get a pair from Volvo Klassikers in the Netherlands.

Afternoon gents. I am still having discussions with the seller about him covering the return postage costs particularly as I asked him to verify the size of the rims before shipping them. Derek I will post up the link and get some details on the wheels over the weekend. The two wheels that were 5.5 were different to those that I have seen on other cars. They look like standard wheels from the front and the additional width has been created by increasing the backspace which of course would produce different issues. The others have a part number on which I will quote when I update the thread.

I have emailed the seller again advising him of the ebay rules on returning mis described items. The link to the original listing is here Derek

And here are photos of one of the 5.5 wheels. The others are stamped 670429 and are clearly stock items.

#670429 are the standard 4" vented wheels. They are also likely to be stamped 4Jx15 in an adjacent section to the part number. What is the number of the 5 1/2" one? Maybe Lemmerz 1538. If it's 684001 it's a later 140 type wheel with a different PCD. There are some with similar shape windows but they later changed to a more triangular shape.
