Default *High Pressure* headlamp washer pump

Hi all

I'm after the above part, for a later Phase II vehicle, it fits horizontally in the bottom of the washer bottle and pumps out high pressure for the headlamp washer system

It looks like this:

Volvo Part #30699674, Original Valeo Part #89032971

you have to cut a small piece oof the end of your pipe for it to fit on this motor.

That's awesome...

I had a bit of a situation last week where I came back to the UK via Rotterdam with no tax or MOT, went straight for the MOT in Hull and it failed because of the headlamp washer. Had to emergency splice the headlamp washer into the main screen washer to get a pass and continue my journey so now both are a bit pathetic!!

I'm leaving the UK again tomorrow but will order it up and fit it when I come back next time

I take it the Mot tester knows it only works on the 5th cycle off the washers being usedc

Oooooh yes, I was there for hours taking the bumper off borrowing tools from a garage next door having the pump out and trying to find a new one, when it came off it was completely corroded inside and wasn't going to work again

Tried to find one nearby, Volvo Hull got back to me hours later after I got home quoting £56 and nobody nearby had anything suitable

As above, in the end we had to jury rig the headlamp washer into the main washer and the tester was happy with that. They were very good but obviously they have rules to follow and can't risk their MOT licence for some random off the street

Perhaps you should change your MOT garage as all the places I use here in Derby none have ever bothered about the headlight washers and as far as I know I don't think they are part of the MOT test unlike the windscreen wipers, even the rear washers are never tested?
My windscreen washer pump packed up a few months ago and I am just waiting to take delivery of a new unit from ebay dealer as posted above by outnumbered and would like to thank him for posting the link.
While I have had the bumper off my car 06 xc70 cross country lux I thought I would replace the headlight bulbs as one was getting a bit dim also the side and marker lights were changed for a led version
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/CANBUS-LE...53.m1438.l2649 I used these so as not to need replacing for a very long time due to the terrible access to change them also I have to say that changing the headlight bulbs (Xenon) is the hardest to do compared to previously owned Saab and Landrover cars in fact I don't think I could have done the job with them in situ.

Section 1.7 Headlamps:

Where HID or LED dipped beam headlamps are fitted ...[a reason for rejection is that]... A headlamp levelling or cleaning device inoperative or otherwise obviously defective.

Levelling and cleaning systems are an MOT requirement for HID lamp equipped vehicles

I've changed the headlamp bulbs on mine, it was a pain but was possible with some swearing and sliced up hands

Default Headlamp bulbs/washers

Hi Mark, thanks for the info on the HID bulbs, I was wondering if it could be a diy job as the car handbook says 'garage job'!
Interestingly, my headlamp washer pump also u/s, probably for a while - I have only had the car a couple of weeks - My local Volvo specialist ordered one in for me, and it's on back order, Volvo UK haven't got any stock!

Regards
John

Also I think you might find your car is too old to need the headlamp washers working for the MOT...…
They only need to work if the vehicle is registered after 1 September 2009.

Sorry to resurrect this dinosaur of a thread but this is good advice and I want to say thank you for pointing it out
