Inner tie rod length
Is there any of figuring out how long the tie rod lengths are without removal for measurements? There are 2 lengths available...
I plan on loading a parts cannon pre mot as I have a little wheel wobble on braking, I haven't seen any evidence of them being replaced for a long time. Same with the droplinks. I notice that if the mot guys see works been done, they're a little more lenient on "little" things, like leds in places they shouldn't be... |

I guess I'll be ticking the "safe order" box on autodoc then.

Daparto.de is much cheaper. Send them email with your VIN and you get link to right part.

I have a £70 credit to use from returned parts. I tried VIN lookup but it still threw both lengths at me. I also need an engine mount for the MOT.
For the second time, in the years I've used them, "safe order" tick box got checked! |

The actual rod part number in the kit I believe is 36825 It has a 34mm 6 sided hex nut compared to the 8 sided one the original had, but that just made my choice of spanner easier. This was for a 2010 XC70 D5 with variable speed power steering rack |

Not yet, parts were delivered a few days ago. Its pencilled in this week with the droplinks and new arms. I tore the ball joint boot on a new arm! Stupid stupid me!
With a lift kit it's 100 times harder to locate the bottom ball joint into the knuckle. I was careless and I tore the ball joint boot as the prybar slipped! Also whoever did the brake job tightened the locator screw and I sheared it off. Idiot garages! Tuesday or Wednesday, work starts. I'll let you know what comes off.
