No sign of any straps...

And lose all the buttons? So how do I adjust my seat?

Well that plan's out the window, it is impossible to get a useful photo of.

There is nothing about my seat belt system that can be "bent over the cushion". It simply does not come up high enough.

Good luck.
Thanks for that, I did not spot that in your link.

However, no part of my seat belt system has a cable, nor a "rubber sleeve".

I assume this recall is about the part by the centre console, where the belt locks into?

It is fitted to a plain metal bar, nothing else. Or have I completely mis-understood what this relates to?

My question was "How can I visually check", not "Does Volvo think this has been done".

Just put in my VIN to check, and there is no information on what the fix is.

There is a photo showing you what to do before you have had the fix applied, but it doesn't tell you anything about the actual fix.

And it doesn't look like the buckle in my car either, which is probably because my car has already been fixed, they just did it before there was a tick-box in the system for this recall.

Regards,
Henrik

Henrik,

Let me get the car out and I'll try get some photos. I remember Volvo having to take off the seat button assembly off to do the recall.

They had a stern talking to, as they didn't put it back together correctly, and their "contractor" leaving various bits of glass swarf and butyl sealer all over the car after the screen replacement.

I know it involved removal of a steel braided cable that attaches the buckle to a pre-tensioner. Recall involved direct mount. I could be wrong.

Off topic - Is big red still with you?

Henrik,
No photos needed.
Basically raise the seat to its highest position.
There should be NO explosive pretention device fitted to the seat belt buckle.

I removed the interior for a deep clean prior to volvo having the car pre recall and remember seeing the pretentioner there when extracting the seats.

I remember discussion of this when released "Volvo favouring liability over safety by REMOVING safety device"...

I understand the recall is in relation to the belt side of the seat belt (at the door) and not the ‘socket’ side at the centre console.

It relates to where the BELT is fixed to the car at the bottom at the door side. The belt can obviously move backwards and forwards to accommodate strapping in around yourself from the normal hanging position. If the belt was in the forward position, this is how you would bend it over getting in the car. If it was at the centre console side, it would be impossible to bend over getting in the car, as described in the given information (ensure that the seat belt fastening is in a vertical position, aligned with the backrest, so that it will not be bent over the seat cushion when entering the seat.)

They will remove the current connection, with the sleeve and cable at the bottom of the belt (at the door side) and I believe attach directly to the anchor point.

It's... Somewhere. With a bit of luck, I will have it back next year with a name change: Big Green!
